Ten ESOL volunteer instructors gathered on Wednesday March 27th at Casserly House to expand their instructional practices. After socializing over coffee and pastries from Roslindale’s PS Gourmet, a training session was offered by Luis Franco of English for New Bostonians. The instructors were engaged in learning the how, when, who, why and why not, of correcting adult learners’ errors. Another relevant topic presented was how to assist adult learners reflect on their learning process to enhance their motivation and agency. Instructors enjoyed getting together, offered helpful feedback on our recent changes, and exchanged ideas and stories about their experiences as instructors.
