Sometimes in the After School Program (ASP) we like to break up homework time with games! While we’ve continued to do Zoom tutoring for ASP, spaces for community and connection are hard to come by. Before the pandemic hit, we scheduled in time for homework, snack, reading and an activity in the afternoons. Due to Zoom mechanics and the complications of virtual learning, when we meet with students it is one-on-one and focused on just homework or reading. This means making time for fun is more important than ever! So, every couple of weeks we have an ASP game Zoom and no tutoring for an afternoon. Our game Zoom two weeks ago included Pictionary, Two Truths and a Lie, Kahoot!, and Night at the Museum. It is wonderful to see the kids enjoying the games and time spent together!
