Wednesday 04/22 Earth Day for Online Learners

Latest News

Happy Earth Day to all of you Earthlings! It is Earth Day’s 50th Anniversary, and we are here to celebrate. As we continuously recommit our mission to “Caring for our Dear Neighbor,’“ we are reminded of St. Francis’ words in his Earth Justice encyclical, Laudato Si, that “the human environment and the natural environment deteriorate together; we cannot adequately combat environmental degradation unless we attend to causes related to human and social degradation” (#48).

Seeking justice for the environment and action towards its conservation is an important aspect of protecting the most vulnerable, including children, immigrants and refugees, the under-resourced, people experiencing homelessness, and migrant workers. We urge everyone today to take a moment to learn something about the environment, take action in support of our climate, or simply take a moment to enjoy and relish in the beauty around us.
