Awesome Architecture

This week at Casserly House, our kids got some hands-on STEM time when they recreated famous buildings from all over the world using recycled materials. Each student chose a building, from the Empire State Building to the Mosque of Djenne to a Mayan temple. After locating their building on a world map, the students then recreated their chosen structure from blocks, boxes, bottles, styrofoam, and other found materials. This was a great opportunity for our kids to let their creativity shine, as well as to learn a little bit about architecture and world history. We see some budding builders in our group of learners!
