Petting Liberty was a highlight for everyone!
Hooves on the ground, whiskers in the breeze. Captian Mieow, soaking up the sun
by Casserly House
On February 19th, ten children from Casserly House took part in the Winter Festival at Franklin Park during school vacation week. What a lovely day it turned out to be!
We visited the horse stables, where the Boston Park Rangers gave us a wonderful glimpse into a “day in the life” of a horse, shared interesting facts, and answered plenty of questions. The children watched how the horses were groomed and how saddles and equipment are carefully put on before riding. We got to admire, meet, and pet two beautiful horses, Hem and Liberty, who were very patient with all the attention.
A big thank you to the Community Service Officers of Boston Police Department E5 for helping us with transportation, as always. On our way back, we stopped at Arboretum Pizza Grill to enjoy some yummy pizza!
It was a sunny, relaxing day filled with learning, laughter, and lovely conversations. We were happy to reconnect and make new connections too – what makes community special!
Little eyes, big excitement—from saddle-up moments to seeing Liberty and Hem out on their ride
