Saturday, October 26, 2024 was a glorious day, and Casserly House was filled with smiles and joy as children enjoyed games, pizza and treats, face painting, cookie decorating, and fun in the leaves, before and after we walked to the Roslindale’s Trick-or-Treat celebration in the Square.

Lindsay Morrison, Program Administrator and event organizer, donned a red wig and scarf for the occasion and led the group on our walk from Casserly House to the Square.  All the children excitedly helped map the trick-or-treat route around the Square coordinated by Roslindale Village Main Streets. Of course, the children happily collected candy from the local merchants! Chocolate was the favorite treat and volunteer Mary Beth O’Sullivan, dressed as the book fairy, brought extra chocolates for the trick-or-treaters. There was active sorting and trading of candy when we returned to Casserly House and exuberant talking, laughing, and smiling at the dining room table.  Other volunteers included Shella Rourke and Marnie Reynolds.

Marnie helped construct the ultimate leaf pile!

Our Jack-o-Lantern trays featured oranges, cantaloupe, blueberries, crackers, and carrots.
