Casserly House offered our ESOL learners a conversation club for the first time this summer. On Mondays and Tuesdays, people gathered to practice conversational English through dialogue, games, and practice with peers.
Some of the topics included: asking and sharing information, expressing emotions, talking about habits, summarizing weekend activities, asking for help, and giving directions. One learner particularly appreciated a conversation club session on “giving directions” that led to visiting Flaherty Pool and the Healy Field community garden. “Thank you. Now I really understand!” he said.
