Above left, Ignatian volunteer Mary Beth O’Sullivan, along with volunteer Gail Grady, lead adult learners in a spirited game of Christmas Bingo while seasonal tunes fill the air! Recently, Anacelys passed her citizenship exam! Ignatian Volunteer, Sheila, and I went to the Roslindale Hair Salon, where Anacelys works, to give her celebratory hugs, patriotic flowers, and a flag! In earlier days, volunteers Sheila, Renee, and others studied with her! Sheila (with Mariam, center) and Renee (with Duc, right) are pictured with other adult learners above.

The Highland Street Foundation gifted Casserly House 30 game tickets for Boston Celtics versus Miami Heat at TD Garden about a month ago! Also gifted were t-shirts and concession stand gift cards. Seven entire families were able to enjoy the game – two families celebrating birthdays. And, who knew that the Royal Couple of England would be in attendance also! THANKS to the Highland Street Foundation, who also awarded a $5000 grant to Casserly House last summer.

One of the families is shown! Left to right is sister and brother on the orange line decked in HSF t-shirts! Then, the mom, Belkis, is a Roslindale neighbor and an adult learner in our ESOL Classes. Sofia, in her second year participating in the children’s activities at Casserly House, is photographed with her dad. Then again in the photo to the upper-right-center, Sofia post-game, modeled her Celtics hat purchased with the gift card. Belkis said, “Thank you. We enjoyed it so much!”
