Celebrating Immigrants’ Day

Latest News

May 7th marks Immigrants’ Day in Boston. We at Casserly House are so proud to walk alongside the amazing people who come through our doors everyday. With over 17 countries and five continents represented in our ESOL classes, our students join together no matter their background with a common goal of learning English. Their hard work and dedication to finding new opportunity in the US. is what has kept us going for over 20 years.

Immigrant communities are some of the most harshly affected by the severe economic, mental health, and physical tolls of COVID-19. With little access to government programs and safety nets, it is now more important than ever for allies to advocate for the allocation of funds and resources towards the wellbeing of the immigrant communities in Boston and beyond.

On this day, the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy (MIRA) Coalition usually hosts a full day of community and advocacy at the State House. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they have transitioned their programming online! Click the link below for information, and we hope everyone is able to tune in at 11 AM EST. Also linked below are some important immigration and asylum resources on the MIRA website.
